Admission test
The mandatory requirement to enroll in the Bachelor's degree programme of Chemistry is the High School Diploma or an equivalent title awarded after a minimum of 12 years of school attendance. Chemistry, physics and mathematics knowledge usually acquired during high school studies are required. This knowledge will be verified by the mandatory test that should be performed by all the students that enrol in the University, but does not represent a selection criterion for the admission to the course.
Admission and Enrollment
To allow all enrolled students to make use of the available classrooms and laboratories facilities, the admission to the first year of the Degree Course in Chemistry is with a scheduled number: for the year 2024 - 2025, only 105 Italian, EU, or non-EU students residing in Italy will be admitted to the course, plus 3 non-EU students not residing in Italy, and 2 Chinese students of the “Marco Polo” Project. Ten additional places are reserved for students in the fourth year of high school (school year 2022/2023) that must mandatorily enroll before April 30, 2024. The enrollment of Italian, EU, or non-EU students residing in Italy will take place only in a single time window that will open on May 7, 2024 at 9:00 and close June 17, 2024 at 23:59 where 105 places will be assigned (plus the remaining places for the fourth year students of high school). Only students that pass the mandatory entrance knowledge assessment test (TOLC-S test by the CISIA Consortium – see below) before the closure of window will be enrolled.
ATTENTION! International students (non-EU citizens not resident in Italy) must follow the procedure indicated in point 6 of the Call for Enrollment, published on the University website (see https://portale.unipv.it/it/corsi-di-laurea-triennale/area-scientifica/chimica) The enrollment procedure requires that students must complete the enrollment procedure and occupy the place.
Enrollment window (May 7 - June 17 2024): 115 places will be assigned.
Who can enroll: candidates who have passed the entrance knowledge assessment test (TOLC-S, or TOLC@CASA of the CISIA, https://www.cisiaonline.it/area-tematica-tolc-scienze/home-tolc-s/) in 2023 and 2024, with a score of minimum 18/50 (answers to the questions in the English section do not contribute to the score). The test can be performed at any university of the Consortium. If the student has passed more than one TOLC-S test, the best result uploaded to esse3 website will be taken into consideration. There is no merit ranking and therefore the chronological order of enrollment will be considered. Candidates excluded from the assignment of the place may express their interest in enrolling by registering in the REPLACEMENT WINDOW. Enrolled students will receive a “Welcome” message to their personal email address, which will provide some general information and most importantly will indicate the University email address, which, from that moment will be the only channel of communication between the University of Pavia and the student. The student is required to activate his/her new email address, as the new credentials for accessing the University’s online services (access to the Reserved Area, WiFi, etc.) will be sent to it. Those who already have an email address assigned by the University of Pavia will keep the same email address and credentials already in use to access the Reserved Area.
ATTENTION! All candidates who enroll before obtaining their high school diploma must enter their grade in the Reserved Area (SEGRETERIA > QUALIFICATIONS > Modify TITLE) as soon as this information is available. The “Welcome” communication will be sent only after this operation. From 22 July 2024 at 9:00 to 27 September 2024 at 23:59 the REPLACEMENT WINDOW will be open, and all candidates interested in enrolling in the Degree in Chemistry (including those who were excluded in the enrollment window) can register. Candidates must have taken the entrance knowledge verification test (TOLC-S, or TOLC@CASA-S) in 2023 and 2024 before the closure of the list. Any available remaining places or that become available by the deadline of 15 October following withdrawals, regrets or transfers of students already enrolled, will be assigned following the chronological order of registration in the replacement list.
